Season Overview

The Tanzania Mainland Premier League Board (TPLB) has officially announced the start of the NBC Premier League 2025/2026 season which will start on Sunday September 17, 2025 with two exciting matches.

Preparations & Key Dates

According to TPLB Acting Chief Executive Officer, Ibrahim Mwayela, the league leadership and participating clubs have already completed all preparations / NBC Premier League 2025/2026 SCHEDULE.

Mwayela noted that the preparations have taken into account the schedule of national and international competitions, and that the 16 clubs are expected to continue strengthening their rosters with new registrations.

He also indicated that the league will officially conclude on May 23, 2026, the deadline intended to give players a chance to be called up to the national teams that will participate in the 2026 World Cup.

League Impact

Mwayela added that the success of the Taifa Stars players in the CHAN competition is due to the strength of the NBC Premier League, which confirms the league’s significant contribution in developing football talents and football competition in the country.
