JOB PURPOSE

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of impairment models, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. Serve as a subject matter expert, driving enhancements across key model components and overseeing model performance and governance. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support accurate impairment reporting and continuous model improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Model Development & Compliance

  • Design, develop, and maintain IFRS 9 impairment models aligned with best practices
  • Enhance and recalibrate IFRS 9 components (PD, LGD, EAD, macroeconomic scenario modeling)
  • Review Expected Credit Loss (ECL) assumptions for ongoing compliance
  • Evaluate model adjustments including macroeconomic inputs for accuracy and stability

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Primary contact for internal stakeholders, regulators, and auditors regarding IFRS 9 models
  • Collaborate with Finance and Credit teams on impairment reporting efficiency

Monitoring & Reporting

  • Collect, validate, and analyze project/portfolio data for management and regulatory reporting
  • Prepare periodic reports on project performance, risks, and financial product utilization
  • Maintain accurate records, financial models, and knowledge management tools

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics, Business, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years in financial modelling, project finance, or development finance
  • Strong Excel-based and/or specialized financial modelling skills
  • Knowledge of derivatives, risk management instruments (desirable)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, financial databases; Power BI is an advantage

KEY COMPETENCIES

  • Expert in IFRS 9 model development methodologies
  • Detailed understanding of effective model management principles
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in financial reporting and credit processes
