Purpose of the Post

The Tax Specialist will oversee tax compliance for Tanzania and other African countries, design tax strategies, ensure regulatory adherence, and file tax returns (direct, indirect, payroll). The role involves maintaining relationships with local tax administrations and collaborating with Boart Longyear’s Tax Department and other functions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • University Degree in Tax Accounting or related field.
  • 3+ years in a large accounting firm or tax department with fundamental tax knowledge.
  • Regional African work experience preferred.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English; French is a plus.
  • Oracle knowledge (advantageous).

Additional Skills & Responsibilities

  • Tax returns management (e.g., Tanzania’s Service Levy Council).
  • Tax audits, CIT/Transfer Pricing returns, and social security audits.
  • Tax accounting coordination and internal controls.
  • Liaising with tax administrations via visits, emails, and reconciliations.
