Position Title: Port / ICD Operations Officer

Portanchor Solutions Limited is a Dar es Salaam-based clearing and forwarding company specializing in customs clearance, cargo documentation, and transit shipping. They work closely with the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and port authorities.

Job Summary: Oversee and coordinate cargo clearance at ports, ICDs, and customs areas. Ensure smooth cargo release, inspections, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Follow up cargo clearance at Ports, ICDs, CFSs, and customs offices.
  • Coordinate container release, examinations, and inspections.
  • Process Delivery Orders (DO), gate passes, and operational documents.
  • Liaise with shipping lines, TRA, TPA, TBS, and other authorities.
  • Monitor container status, cargo availability, and release progress.
  • Coordinate loading, offloading, and dispatch of cargo.
  • Follow up container returns to avoid detention charges.
  • Resolve operational issues affecting cargo release.
  • Provide daily updates to the Operations Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations.

Requirements:

  • Certificate/Diploma/Degree in Logistics, Shipping, or related fields.
  • Experience in port operations, freight forwarding, or customs clearance.
  • Knowledge of Dar es Salaam Port and ICD procedures.
  • Familiarity with customs clearance and shipping documentation.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and computer skills.
  • Fluency in English & Swahili.
  • Valid driving license (added advantage).

Salary: Negotiable based on experience.
