Job Title: Credit Analyst

Location: Dar es Salaam, Head Office

Job Purpose

The Credit Analyst is responsible for managing the end-to-end process of credit applications and related transactions. This includes:

  • Conducting credit assessments
  • Defending credit proposals at various review levels
  • Handling documentation, disbursement, and administrative account-related matters
  • Overseeing all credit administrative tasks

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure turnaround time for credit applications meets agreed timeframes
  • Contribute to managing, monitoring, and controlling the lending portfolio
  • Perform credit appraisals and recommend proposals to credit committees
  • Process other credit-related applications
  • Liaise with professionals such as advocates, accountants, valuers, and insurers
  • Diarize issues from credit applications for future action
  • Identify weaknesses in credit processing and recommend or organize suitable training
  • Follow up on audit reports reviewing credit applications and loan appraisals
  • Analyze financial statements

Candidate Requirements

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting, Business Administration, Banking and Finance, or Economics

Experience:

  • Fresh graduate or minimum of 1 year of banking experience in credit management from a reputable commercial bank

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong communication and reporting skills
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Excellent proficiency in Microsoft applications
  • Structured approach to handling complex and variable work environments independently
  • Ability to balance opposing business requirements
  • Capability to manage long-term and short-term requirements independently
