Job Purpose

Dangote Cement Limited Tanzania is a subsidiary of Dangote Cement PLC Nigeria.

The job role is Financial Accountant of Dangote Cement Limited Tanzania, whose Company Vision is “To be the preferred supplier in Tanzania, Northern Mozambique, Regional Markets and Indian Ocean Islands, of high-quality affordable products”. The role falls within the Company Finance Department whose vision is to be a “A True Business Partner & Reference Finance Organisation”.

The purpose of the role is to support the Finance Controller in managing an accurate general ledger of the company, preparing monthly and year end financial statements, managing an effective external audit process, and ensuring that the payment process of the company is adequate, well controlled, efficient, and effective. The role will also support in ensuring the financial reporting system is properly controlled to provide for accurate & reliable reporting, he balance sheet is an accurate reflection of the state of the company affairs and support in monitoring and reporting on the key performance indicators of the entire finance department. The role will support in preparation of balance sheet forecasts/budgets/medium term plans and cashflows arising from the balance sheet forecast/medium term plans.

Key Responsibilities

Monthly & Year-End Financial Reporting

  • Participate in month-end closing and prepare accurate financial statements per group/IFRS standards
  • Support year-end audits for timely statutory financial statement release

Financial Accounting

  • Ensure general ledger reliability, accurate balance sheet reflections, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Manage provisions/accruals and journal voucher processes

Operational Support

  • Streamline payment processes with internal stakeholders
  • Maintain fixed assets accounting/register
  • Prepare balance sheet/cashflow forecasts per FC/CFO directives

Additional Duties

  • Monitor Finance department KPIs
  • Other tasks assigned by FC/CFO

Requirements

Technical Competencies

  • Graduate with 4+ years in Finance/Audit (external audit experience preferred)
  • Professional qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA)
  • ERP proficiency (SAP knowledge developable within 1 year)
