Position Details

Location: Tarime, Mara Region, Tanzania, United Republic of

The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a Geologist to join and grow our team.

Responsibilities

Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance

  • Follow all documented health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Provide safety leadership to subordinates, contractors, and MRM business partners.
  • Supervise employees and contractors to maintain safety standards.

Geological Activities and Data Management

  • Complete 3D interpretation of geological data and share outputs with relevant teams.
  • Ensure ore polygon creation and communication post-model updates.
  • Oversee drill pad preparation and sampling processes.
  • Conduct flitch analysis, risk assessments, and dilution control.

Planning, Reporting, and Performance Monitoring

  • Participate in business planning and liaise with technical teams.
  • Prepare geological, mining, and MRM reports (daily/weekly/monthly).

Team Leadership, Training, and Development

  • Mentor and train Geological Technicians and Assistants.
  • Support professional development programs.

Operational Support and Accountability

  • Oversee drilling activities and contractor performance.
  • Manual-transmission vehicle operation required.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Geology or related field.
  • 2+ years’ experience in mine/exploration geology.
  • Proficiency in mining software (Vulcan, Leapfrog, etc.).
  • Valid Driver’s License and ability to drive manual transmission.
