Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare certificates/documents for vessel registration and licensing.
  • Maintain central records of registered/licensed ships.
  • Assist in surveys/inspections for Tanzanian and foreign-flagged vessels.
  • Support preliminary investigations for maritime incidents.
  • Assist in issuing detention notices or certificates to vessels.
  • Develop performance objectives in consultation with superiors.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
    • Nautical Science
    • Maritime Transportation
    • Marine Engineering
  • Additional requirement:
    • Certificate of Competence (STCW Regulation II/1 or III/1)
    • Marine Engineering in Hydrograph (optional)
