Key Qualifications

  • Must be a Tanzanian National
  • VETA Certificate in Electrical Installation / Electrical Engineering (minimum Grade I, II, or III)
  • Trade Test Certificate recognized by Tanzania’s Ministry of Labour
  • Ordinary Diploma or FTC in Electrical Engineering (preferred for senior roles)
  • 5+ years’ hands-on experience in industrial/construction electrical work
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams and technical manuals
  • Familiarity with Tanzania’s Electrical Installation Regulations and EWURA standards
  • Valid EWURA Electrical Installation License (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs compliant with EWURA regulations
  • Ensure safe operation of electrical systems per OSHA Tanzania guidelines
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical faults efficiently
  • Interpret electrical drawings and technical manuals
  • Test and inspect systems for statutory compliance
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports
  • Coordinate with supervisors to meet project schedules
  • Install/maintain power distribution, lighting, and control systems
  • Implement strict health and safety practices
  • Guide junior electricians and apprentices

Contract Details

The Contract shall be for a specific time period for the task.

Work Location: Chongoleani ward, Tanga city (camp accommodations provided; mandatory use of camp facilities)
