Health & Safety Officer Job Vacancy at TUI Hotels & Resorts

Location: Matemwe, Zanzibar (The Mora Zanzibar)

Contract: Permanent, 48 hours/week

Deadline: Sunday, 14th December

Note: Applicants must already have the right to live and work in Zanzibar.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a relay for Health & Safety initiatives under the Cluster Health & Safety Manager.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the HACCP plan per local/international standards.
  • Conduct Safety & Hygiene Audits, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Develop emergency response plans for fires, medical incidents, etc.
  • Organize and deliver safety/hygiene training for employees.
  • Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Maintain EHS systems aligned with ISO 14001/OHSAS 18001.
  • Manage safety documentation and HACCP records.
  • Lead sustainability initiatives and CSR programs.
  • Promote teamwork and asset management.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (NEBOSH, HACCP, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Hospitality industry experience mandatory; workplace safety expertise valued.
  • HACCP: Strong food safety standards knowledge.
  • Languages: English and Swahili proficiency (excellent written/spoken English).
  • Technical: Proficient in Microsoft Office/IT systems.
  • Soft Skills: Planning, reporting, auditing, and training delivery abilities.
