Job Description

The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a Boilermaker to join and grow its Plant Engineering Maintenance team.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and Barrick health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct daily maintenance inspections and execute work on plant equipment.
  • Fabricate and assemble metal structures using welders, cutters, and measuring tools.
  • Repair and maintain metal equipment and structures.
  • Read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints.
  • Perform high-quality planned and unplanned repairs.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area.
  • Attain and maintain relevant licenses (e.g., Basic Rigging, Working at Heights).

Qualification Requirements

  • Technical or vocational school training, apprenticeship, or on-the-job training.
  • FTC, VETA, IMTT Trade Test, or equivalent qualification.
  • Sound knowledge of mining safety regulations.

Experience and Competencies

  • Minimum 3 years of post-apprenticeship experience in heavy mobile equipment.
  • Plant maintenance experience on mills, crushers, conveyors, etc.
  • Experience with welding machines (arc welder, TIG, MIG).
  • Valid Tanzanian driving license (class B, C, D, E).
