Job Description

Background

The Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, Natural Resources and Livestock (MAINL), in partnership with UNDP, is implementing the project “Safeguarding Zanzibar’s Forest and Coastal Habitats for Multiple Benefits”, funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF). The project aims to strengthen biodiversity conservation, promote sustainable land-use practices, and enhance climate resilience in Zanzibar over six years (2026–2032).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, financial management, and reporting.
  • Assist in procurement, asset management, and compliance.
  • Provide coordination, administrative support, and knowledge management.

Competencies

  • Core: Results-driven, innovative, adaptable, and inclusive.
  • Technical: Budget management, monitoring & evaluation, digital literacy.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: Secondary education required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience: 5 years (secondary) or 2 years (degree) in project administration, logistics, or M&E.
  • Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, financial reporting, and procurement procedures.
