Job Description

  • Checking and recounting cash received from the tellers.
  • Depositing cash with Bank of Tanzania (BOT).
  • Withdrawing cash from Bank of Tanzania.
  • Conducting snap checks on the vault cash deposits to verify propriety of the amounts.
  • Preparing daily cash positions for various currencies.
  • Authorizing cash receipts (deposits) received by tellers.
  • Keeping custody of the strong room keys and ensuring safety of cash and documents thereof.
  • Managing cash exchange between tellers and when the till is taken over by another teller.
  • To undertake till balancing and administration activities in an effective and compliant manner.
  • Ask for explanations from Tellers with cash shortages or excess.
  • Loading cash onto ATM.
  • Interchange or rotate tellers e.g., front office tellers, bulk cash tellers, BOT cash counting tellers etc.
  • Carrying out spot checks over teller’s cash balance or cash deposited at the vault.
  • Inform I.T. department whenever there’s technical problems.

Roles & Responsibilities

Assisting the Branch Manager in managing cash and coordinating the work of tellers with that of the Branch Manager.
