Salary: TZS 77,198,751/year

Position Summary

The U.S. Mission in Tanzania is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the Senior Foreign Service National Investigator (Security Investigator) in the Regional Security Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as primary liaison to host government law enforcement/security entities
  • Supervises the Foreign Service National Investigator (FSNI) Unit
  • Oversees background investigations and conducts special/sensitive cases
  • Manages host nation capacity building and emergency preparedness programs
  • Leads strategic planning of security/law enforcement initiatives with host nation

Qualifications & Requirements

Education

University Degree (B.S.) in law enforcement, criminology, or related major or host country equivalent.

Experience

At least five (5) years as a professional investigator or special agent with substantive experience conducting complex & high-profile investigations.

Language

Level IV (Fluent) Speaking/Reading/Writing in both English and Kiswahili (may be tested).

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Expertise in investigative principles/techniques
  • Comprehensive knowledge of local laws and government structures
  • Ability to maintain high-level contacts and conduct sensitive investigations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
