About the Role
Matteo Italian Restaurant – Arusha is currently looking for experienced kitchen staff and a skilled Sous Chef to join our team.
Key Responsibilities
Experienced Kitchen Staff Duties:
- Food Preparation: Includes tasks like chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, portioning ingredients, and cooking dishes according to recipes and instructions.
- Maintaining Hygiene and Safety: Responsible for keeping work areas clean, sanitizing equipment, and adhering to food safety regulations.
- Following Instructions: Execute tasks as guided by the head chef or sous chef to ensure consistency.
- Assisting with Inventory: Help with inventory management, checking ingredient freshness, and stocking supplies.
Skilled Sous Chef Duties:
- Assisting the Head Chef: Support in menu planning, recipe development, and food presentation.
- Supervising and Training: Oversee kitchen staff, ensure workflow efficiency, and train new employees.
- Inventory and Ordering: Manage kitchen inventory, order supplies, and monitor stock levels.
- Maintaining Quality Standards: Oversee food preparation for consistency and quality.
- Enforcing Food Safety: Uphold sanitation standards and regulatory compliance.
- Managing Kitchen Operations: Handle scheduling, resource management, and administrative tasks.
- Problem Solving: Resolve issues during service and make quick decisions when needed.
