Committed to preventing lifelong disabilities, CCBRT engages in extensive maternal and newborn healthcare (MNHC) activities, including obstetric fistula repairs. Its Maternity and Newborn Wing serves as a referral centre for high-risk and emergency deliveries in the region of Dar es Salaam and the Eastern Zone of Tanzania.

Role Responsibilities

  • Providing nursing care in accordance with quality, safety regulations, and standards, while maintaining patient dignity at all times.
  • Ensuring all necessary preparations are completed before the patient sees the doctor or enters consulting rooms/theatre.
  • Assisting doctors during patient examinations and/or surgeries.
  • Translating information between patients and doctors from Kiswahili to English and vice versa in case of language barriers.
  • Communicating sensitive information regarding patients’ medical conditions and counseling patients.
  • Performing clinical procedures and ensuring proper recordkeeping for all activities.
  • Controlling patient flow in the clinical area.

Candidate Requirements

  • Diploma in general nursing and midwifery.
  • Must be registered and have a valid license from the Tanzania Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Good communication skills in English and Swahili.
  • Flexible, multitasking, proactive, and eager to learn.
